ETERNO

THERMAE

This project is a new development in a different location for 'ETERNO,' widely known as an ultra-luxury residence designed by Pritzker-winning architect Rafael Moneo. It was conceived as a high-end community facility accessible not only to residents but also to exclusive private members.

Prior to the detailed schematic design phase, our team was responsible for establishing the overarching design strategy and visual aesthetics. This foundational work was crucial to defining the business direction and facilitating seamless coordination with Rafael Moneo's architectural team. Our design approach focused on naturally translating the building's distinctive exterior architectural language into the interior spaces, while simultaneously striving to express a sense of newness.

The core design motif originated from the ancient Roman 'Thermae,' which served as a complex community center beyond a simple bathhouse. Utilizing the ceiling height, we created a mezzanine structure and established a 'Water Lounge' there. In this space, we planned for water to transcend its simple purpose of washing, utilizing it in diverse forms through features such as a Meditation Pool and an Endless Pool.
