H PROJECT

LOOKING AT THE SPACE OF LIFE IS LIKE IMAGINING THE LIFE YOU WANT TO LIVE

I designed a retirement villa on Jeju Island for the chairman of one of South Korea's top three conglomerates. Jeju is Korea's premier island, celebrated for its distinct local character and beautiful natural landscapes.

The site offers a spectacular view of both the ocean and Mount Sanbang. This scenery is not only visually stunning but is also considered highly auspicious. Through close collaboration with the architectural team, we maximized this sweeping view by implementing a large corner window.

Our firm previously designed the client's current primary residence, which featured a grand and luxurious aesthetic. However, for this project, we pursued a quiet and serene design to harmonize with the tranquil mood of Jeju and the relaxed nature of a retirement home.

As a result, the loose furniture naturally takes center stage in the space. This approach provides a timeless quality; as the years pass, simply updating the furniture can completely transform the ambiance, allowing the clients to enjoy the home for a long time without it feeling dated. Additionally, we designed various functional areas tailored to their specific lifestyle, including a highly customized kitchen and a formal meeting area to accommodate visiting high-ranking officials.
