J PROJECT

THE WARM SUNLIGHT SEEPING INTO THE CALM

This project involves a private villa owned by a prominent conglomerate family, originally designed by the legendary South Korean architect Kim Swoo-geun. The scope of work encompassed the expansion of the sunroom, alongside the subtle refinement of a section of the living room, two bathrooms, and an adjacent small annex.

Recognizing the profound historical and architectural significance of the building, the design approach was intentionally restrained. Our overarching strategy was to minimize intervention and preserve the original essence as much as possible, allowing the new spatial elements to quietly and seamlessly harmonize with the existing structure. Rather than aiming for ostentatious glamour, we collaborated with a top-tier contractor to ensure that every newly crafted detail was executed with meticulous craftsmanship.
